錄影藝術的開拓者，Bill Viola是一位畫家，他創造一種數位及技術色彩的新調色盤，為創作動態圖畫，記載在獨特的藝術史裡，在那裡與大師們交會：哥雅至喬托，經由Jerome Bosch。他藝術創作途徑同樣是一種技術及造型的歷險記。一種媒介創造史，今天普遍存在於當代藝術中。Bill Viola曾展現在世界所有重要美術館，但是首次在法國辦回顧展，也是國家畫廊史裡首次提獻錄影藝術的大展。
