Franziska Furter "Squall Lines" Solo Exhibition
"Squall Lines" environmental space installation exhibition and Fueter Bourdon objects on the wall, 2010.

Franziska Furter "Squall Lines" solo exhibition: from April 1st to May 2nd at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris. Franziska Furter (born 1972) is a German artist of the younger generation, skilled in design, sculpture, and spatial installation. This unusual "Squall Lines" environmental space installation features a floor entirely covered with a black carpet, underneath which lie hidden shards of broken glass. When visitors walk through the space, a strange sensation arises, as if treading on thin ice, producing creaking and crunching sounds reminiscent of walking on a frozen lake in winter, evoking a sense of inexplicable unease and disturbance.
On one wall, a mass of black curves resembles withered tree branches, while another wall displays a pencil drawing with a pattern that seems to fluctuate like the highs and lows of sound. Within this black and white abstract scenery, an extraordinary imagination and an alternative poetic landscape are formed, situated between dream and the natural world with a romantic sentiment.
"Squall Lines" clearly draws inspiration from contemporary comics and the sci-fi world, as well as from certain paradoxical situations in everyday life. Through the artist's careful filtering of various elements of reality, these metamorphoses of the organic and plant world are created, along with ambiguous images and stirring sounds. Everything exists between the visible and the invisible, the psychological and the physical, sound and sight, the organic and the artificial, imagination and metaphor.
