Paris Music Festival (Fête de la Musique) - 2008
The family choir was the most surprising group at the festival.

The scene of the music festival in the park near home. On June 21st each year, the day of the Music Festival—the summer solstice, when daylight is longest—brilliant sunlight shines and a hot atmosphere envelops us, marking the prelude to the summer holiday season. French society as a whole prepares for its annual long summer break; vacation becomes a ritual for everyone. Students are taking exams, and the school term is about to end with them. Major summer sales are about to begin at department stores across Paris. Social pace accelerates, energized by the sunshine, leaving people full of spirit and vitality. Parks, the back gardens of Parisians, are filled with leisure crowds relaxing under tree shade or basking lazily in the sun. Everywhere there are sounds of urban children playing joyfully. In the Flower City, pilgrims from around the world gather at monuments and scenic spots, where the clamor of summer tourism becomes a symphony of the city.
In this vibrant, bustling metropolis, the annual Music Festival brings charm and taste to life. This year, like always, musical programs of all sizes fill every corner of the city. Whether professional or amateur, any kind of music and dance is present, with melodies and beautiful voices filling the entire city. You don’t even need to go out; opening a window lets you hear the gentle, wonderful music. By the roadside near home in the evening, a group of young rock enthusiasts gathers. Under the trees in the park, a family choir sings loudly. Before the lawn, a mobile stage hosts various music and dance performances, including unusual rhythms from North Africa and Black Africa, along with dance troupe shows. These attract many spectators. I happened to pass by, stopping calmly to listen and watch. It brought me unexpected surprise and discovery, allowing me to share in the unique global music presented at the festival, offering a distinct charm and broadening my horizons amidst the delight.
