Frank Nitsche "Chloe Top, Versace Pants" Solo Exhibition
One of the LIF-07-2009 series, oil on canvas, 250 x 200 cm, 2009

One of the LIF-07-2009 series, oil on canvas, 250 x 200 cm, 2009. Frank Nitsche's solo exhibition "Chloe Shirt, Versace Pants" is on display at Galerie Nathalie Obadia from May 16 to July 18. Frank Nitsche (born 1964) holds a unique position in contemporary German art with his innovative industrial geometric abstraction. This highly structured geometric painting derives from early 20th-century structuralism and De Stijl, while also drawing from modernist architecture and contemporary digital industrial design. With the unusual theme of "Chloe Shirt and Versace Pants," which both depicts and expresses, Nitsche attempts to portray the reality of the fashion world within these geometric abstractions.
The distinct characteristics of Frank Nitsche's paintings—smooth, flat surfaces alternating between acidic and pink tones, forming clear graphic contours between intersecting vertical or parallel diagonal lines—create a sense of depth illusion. In his new works, dominated by red and pink hues, the interwoven organizational lines present a visual effect akin to oscillating computer graphics. The artist writes regarding this: "If there were a possibility of writing, it would be computer information and digital. These streamlined forms reflect my passion for industrial design."
Frank Nitsche's innovative painting practice has developed over many years through the collection and classification of image data. Through overlapping perspectives, he creates a profound illusion, establishing an extraordinary tension between abstraction and description.
