Travel brings constant surprises, broadening one’s horizons; seeing is indeed better than hearing a hundred times, and traveling ten thousand miles surpasses reading ten thousand books. Such insights and experiences offer direct, profound touches to body, mind, and spirit.

Surprises in daily life are a form of happiness. Beauty is the primary value of existence; where there is beauty, meaning naturally arises. The greatest happiness in living is that everywhere becomes a dojo, every place an opportunity to meet one’s own soul. One can embrace one’s great soul at any time, dance with it, and converse with space and time.
