Janes Rosenquist (1933): Another typical example of Pop Art, and also a question of fragmented collage: although Pop Art is figurative, it seems unable to utilize the imagery obtained from its own firsthand observation; for its existence, its imagery must undergo some process. Painter Rosenquist said: "I treat billboards as advertising spaces; I paint them as if reproducing other things, but I try to stay as far away from them as possible." He combined various advertising sign images in small pieces, thereby creating a synthetic image with an almost abstract effect.
