Legendary Figures of Paris Street Graffiti - "Jerome Mesnager"
A painter painting on the walls of Paris

In Paris street graffiti, white figures often appear unexpectedly in corners at the city's edge, running, jumping, embracing, painting, or singing and dancing. They may also converse or meet with Mr. Nemo, the detective in a trench coat and top hat. These white figure graffiti images have become distinctive characters of urban Paris. This legendary figure was created by graffiti artist Jérôme Mesnager (born 1961) starting in 1983; it is now his most iconic style character and another legendary artist in the city. He considers this figure to be: "a symbolic light, power, and peace." These white images manifest as white bodies or white figures. Jérôme Mesnager’s white figures have become indispensable imagery in Paris street graffiti, visiting major cities worldwide over the past twenty-plus years.
