"Paulin, Paulin, Paulin" Group Exhibition: John de Andrea (born 1941) is also an illusionist—one of the most representative artists of American Super Realism. He directly casts from live models, replicating skin texture and hair with uncanny resemblance, achieving effects similar to Duane Hanson. However, he specializes in presenting completely nude figures, which is quite eerie and carries a slightly erotic intent. When observed closely, one can clearly see capillaries and blood vessel pulses on the skin, as if subtly moving; it is lifelike. Whether sitting on various chairs, standing, squatting, lying on carpets or sofas, or leaning against walls, his subjects display captivating postures, charming figures, ambiguous smiles, and provocative poses. These works imply certain messages about humanity. Indeed, reality is like art, and art is like reality, but this reality transcends the ordinary because truth has no fixed form yet encompasses everything.
