Klara Kristalova "Short stories" solo exhibition: on display at Emmanuel Perrotin Gallery from January 19 to March 8. Born in Sweden in 1967, Klara Kristalova is one of the most active contemporary Nordic artists. She narrates her storytelling through figurative sculpture, often constructing a world of extraordinary imaginative fairy tales, fables, beautiful dreams, and disillusioned daily life scenes through her sculptural groups. Art critic Anders Olofsson wrote: "Klara Kristalova employs a psychoanalytic approach, selecting various materials (plaster, bronze, wood, and her specialty, ceramics), combining categories of traditional decorative art within the radical scope of different white facades (...). She engages in presenting a concept of prefabricated life, regarding this ambiguous nature as people see it becoming a source, an origin point."
