Text and photos by Chen Chi-Hsiang. At the XLVIII AICA International Congress in London, 2015. After leaving the "Alberto Giacometti: Pure Existence" exhibition, the consciousness of existence continued to ferment within me. I then entered the halls of Western classical and modern art at the National Gallery Museum in London. It felt like a spiritual cleansing akin to a sauna; a sense of happiness rose from my heart, and art moved my soul. Within the National Gallery Museum, I embraced and met artistic souls once again. Entering the embrace of art through a detached, spontaneous approach, I opened my mind and spirit, feeling as if I were on a date with the masters—excited and moved, melting into "beauty," with everything left unsaid. Art is an experience of spiritual transformation; wonder in life is a form of happiness; beauty is the primary value of existence in life, and meaning arises naturally from it. Indeed, the word "happiness" best describes my state of mind, marveling at existence and the profundity of life.
