Text/Photos by Chen Chi-Hsiang. Thanks to Lotus Curatorial for organizing eight contemporary art lectures. Each theme felt like traveling with Teacher Chen’s clouds, a wonderful sensation that opens the window of the soul—the eyes—and widens the heart, allowing us to roam the skyline of contemporary art together, entering the spatial fields and contexts of the art capital, expanding imaginative spaces into unknown worlds filled with amazement, more real than dreams or virtuality.
Bosch said: “The function of all art is what society often intends to suppress. (…) Only art makes life possible—in this radical premise he wished to express. I say that without art, human spirituality is unimaginable.” Ernst Cassirer believed that “artworks are the intuition of humanity and inner life, manifested in the sensible form of images; in the purely formal aesthetic intuition of artworks, one can see oneself and the entire world.”
Thanks to the many artist friends, art lovers, gallery owners, and collectors who shared this grand feast. Together we traveled on the clouds. Here, heartfelt thanks to your participation. Indeed, as the great French writer Maupassant said: “What is victory if no one shares it with you?”
Thanks to those who attended the final contemporary art lecture of the first half-year: Michelle, Panny, Heidi, Sunny, Liu Yao, Li Qihao who participated throughout, and other friends. Here’s to art. Cheers. Because art is a recognition and contemplation of human existence; life becomes complete through art.
Traveling with the Clouds - Contemporary Art Lecture Series Concludes Successfully: Next session - Paris Contemporary Art will be live from Paris.
