Soaring in the Poetic Pastoral Landscape

Text and photos by Chen Chi-Hsiang. Champvalon is a typical small farm in the Champagne region of Burgundy, France, surrounded by undulating hills with changing terrain. Its natural geographical landscape rivals that of Tuscany, Italy. The magnificent pastoral scenery unfolds like a picturesque, endless view among fields of wheat, vineyards, and forests—a paradise on earth. It is where I take evening strolls in the countryside. Whenever I immerse myself in nature’s embrace, I feel as if I am a solitary gull soaring leisurely between heaven and earth, experiencing the elegance of the natural world. In this way, I feel deeply happy. I share this sense of happiness with friends and family.
