Returning to my hometown Taiwan for nearly three months, I have lived a fulfilling artistic life wandering through my homeland. It is not yet time to seek my roots, but each visit brings a strong feeling of returning to my mother's embrace. The people and things of my hometown soothe my heart that has wandered in Paris; this extraordinary emotion is beyond description. My hometown is the warmest, most considerate field of life. Although nothing is perfect, the feeling of home is the most comforting to a wanderer's heart. Wandering in my hometown is wonderful, rich, bewitching, and inexplicable, yet its beauty lies beyond words. Returning is like the past, yet it returns to the present, which constructs the future. Past, present, and future are all on the horizon of my hometown, stretching endlessly into the distance and nearness, the visible and invisible, the seen and unseen. In the affection where people and earth are dear, I witness the existence of life, and the sentiment and love of my hometown.

Wandering in my hometown with a romantic and sharing mood, I casually settle and witness my true nature. Everything is within the attitude of a self-cultivator, opening my heart wide to welcome everything, joyfully embracing the human world. Everywhere I contact, everywhere I learn, carefully observing. To truly understand my hometown, I enter every corner, listening and seeing the true meaning of humanity and art, witnessing the aesthetics and reality of my hometown.

As an artist, what I witness in Taiwan's hometown is not just art, but more profoundly, the large humanistic background of art—society, politics, economy, and environment. Under today's globalization, everything changes rapidly. Under the impact of this unprecedented financial tsunami, the shaking world economy and Taiwan's forward-looking political tendencies, and the transforming international situation, those who lose confidence in this circumstance lose everything. What Taiwan lacks is not resources or talent, but a clear vision. Indeed, the repeatedly wavering politics make Taiwanese people lose confidence.

Art, art, the art I believe in, transforms my life through truth, goodness, and beauty, becoming spiritual strength and life energy, my spiritual food. It makes me free and boundless, allowing me to gallop freely, and witness the essence of life. Is there anything more excellent than art and aesthetics? In my hometown Taiwan, as if a witness of art, based on the mission of art, I share art and the joy of life with everyone everywhere. I hope to become an angel of art, conveying the most beautiful message of the human world, constructing an artistic utopia or a harmonious and perfect society. Is this a Bohemian utopia? I have never questioned it, because those who witness art and aesthetics will live at ease as they are.
