Having just returned to Paris from Taiwan, amidst the beautiful summer days, Paris remains Paris. My beloved Paris still captivates me, and I quickly immerse myself in its life, cultural activities, and walking tours, once again embracing my beloved Parisian lover. I am fortunate to continue wandering through Paris, contemplating and creating here. A few days ago, I accompanied Taiwanese photographer Xiao Xia for several days; he specifically came to Paris to photograph Taiwanese artists living there, offering me many insights into the rise and fall of life and the radiance of art. We visited the Centre Pompidou, wandered around Paris, and took a walk in Bercy Park near our home. Amidst this hurried itinerary, I saw advertisements for the annual municipal horticultural exhibition introduced on the subway. This afternoon, filled with excitement and curiosity, I went to visit it, only to find that compared to last year, it seemed somewhat diminished. It was a bit simplified, so there were no crowds this year. Apparently, Parisians have high standards; not every exhibition attracts large crowds.

The annual horticultural exhibition by the Paris Municipal Parks Administration has dual significance—demonstrative and educational—and elucidates the relationship between greening and natural ecology in contemporary Parisian urban gardens and parks. Here, several cases regarding Parisian parks and green spaces are presented, including vegetable gardens, seasonal gardens, rock gardens, edge space greening, vertical plant walls, green fences, wildflower gardens, park resource recycling, and the use of ground materials in parks and green spaces. As usual, I took a leisurely stroll on this breezy and sunny summer day to enjoy the scenery and take some reference photos. Then I continued my evening walk along the winding Seine River, crossing Île de la Cité to Île Saint-Louis, enjoying the sight of barge taxis passing by on the river, couples chatting and loving by the riverside, and young men and women lazily sunbathing. Crossing several bridges, I headed towards the Arab World Institute and then to Jussieu University, entering the Paris Botanical Garden. I strolled leisurely among the lush flora until reaching the Austerlitz train station, taking Line C back home. This was my first tour of the city upon returning to Paris; walking has become one of the rituals of my Parisian life.
