After every summer vacation, Paris enters a peak period for a series of art exhibitions. The previous Saturday night marked Paris's annual "Nuit Blanche," with its bustling atmosphere invigorating the entire artistic capital. As autumn arrives, various large and small exhibitions are unveiled, alongside new operas, theater performances, concerts, and shows taking the stage. The opening of various literary awards in Paris sees bookstores filled with new literary works; at this time each year, over three hundred new titles flood the market, covering all genres including fashion novels, quickly building up to the climax of Paris's annual literary awards. The city of arts is not only home to diverse museums, art galleries, and cultural spaces, but also endless new themed exhibitions, unending concerts or lectures, and uncountable performances, bringing joy to those who love arts and culture. Arts and culture seem to have become the spiritual sustenance of Parisians, like vitamins full of vitality in life. Living in the desired "City of Arts" and "City of Flowers" is fortunate; as an artist, art critic, and gardening enthusiast, I am captivated by this metropolis, thriving and at ease. Arts and culture have long been an indispensable part of my life.
Here is a list of the spectacular exhibitions in Paris for the second half of the year: The Grand Louvre presents "Titian, Tintoretto and Veronese, Masters and Rivals" of the Venetian Renaissance school, from mid-September to January 11, 2010. The Grand Palais exhibits Impressionist master "Renoir of the 20th Century," featuring Renoir's late works, from September 23 to January 4, 2010. The Grand Palais also hosts the special exhibition "From Byzantium to Istanbul - Two Continents, One Great Port," from October 10 to January 25, 2010. The Musée d'Orsay displays Belgian symbolist and expressionist painter "James Ensor," from October 20 to February 4, 2010. The Centre Pompidou launches "Surrealist Photography and Film - Subversive Images," from September 23 to January 11, 2010. Additionally, there is a special exhibition on Pierre Soulages, a master of 1950s abstract art, from October 14 to March 8, 2010.
The Musée Municipal d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris presents a unique exhibition "Thai Filmmaker-Artists Apichatpong and Weerasethakul," from October 1 to January 3, 2010. There is also the contemporary art thematic exhibition "Deadline," from October 16 to January 10, 2010. In the Tuileries Garden, the Tennis Court Museum exhibits Italian renowned filmmaker "Last but not least - Federico Fellini," from October 20 to January 17, 2010. At Tokyo Palace, a key hub for contemporary art in Paris, "Chasing Napoleon" runs from October 15 to January 17, 2010. Near the Bastille metro station, La Maison Rouge presents the special exhibition "Jean-Jacques Lebel's Rebellion," from October 25 to January 17, 2010. Following last year's Jeff Koons pop art star exhibition, Versailles Palace introduces this year's most representative French artist Xavier Veilhan's sculpture special exhibition, from early September to December 13. Finally, there is a grand photography exhibition "Quai Branly Photo Exhibition" (outdoor), held biennially by the Quai Branly Museum focusing on non-Western photographers' works; this year it specially invites Iranian photographers to join the event, worth visiting if possible, from September 22 to November 22. Paris's Maison Européenne de la Photographie hosts the special exhibition "Turkish Contemporary Photography," as this year marks the French-Turkish Year. These are the selected spectacular exhibition catalogs for the second half of the year that I have curated. These exhibitions are sufficient to spiritually enrich art-loving audiences, leaving them dazzled and overwhelmed. Paris's arts and culture vitamins make Parisians' hearts bloom.
