Every Christmas, I miss my home in Paris even more
My wife said, 'There are still Christmas gifts waiting for me under the tree,' which was truly touching

It is the end of the year again. For three years, I have not spent Christmas and the New Year at my home in Paris. The feeling of being away from home is somewhat distant, yet it is rare to live on the beloved soil of my own land. Although my home is far, it is close in my heart. Home is a native place no one forgets; it carries the same symbolic weight as one’s hometown. Indeed, leaving home feels far, but embracing the arms of my hometown is so warm and free. Hometown, I am back; I love you deeply. For the dream of our homeland and the ideal of building a home, leaving home is inevitable because my hometown is my native place, the primal driving force and energy of life.

The solo exhibition "Original Image as Appearance" (Yuan Xiang Ru Xiang) at Chiayi Taiyu Aesthetics Academy has ended. Every exhibition draws crowds, yet each time I feel slightly disappointed by expectations and anxious that true understanding is hard to find. This is reality, and I hold no regrets. It allows me to feel a deeper artistic consciousness and the challenges of life. Indeed, an artistic career is life’s greatest adventure. There is nothing to regret. Creating on the path I love brings deep happiness. Material hardship is worth the persistence of life. Art without ideals is absolutely lifeless. I will continue with full effort; there is no other way. Life soars.

Exhibitions must end so new activities can begin. Playing the role of an aesthetic evangelist in my hometown, I have opportunities to lecture everywhere and connect with people, sharing my views, perspectives, and insights on "beauty." I dedicate what I have learned, sharing thirty years of artistic experience in Paris with friends, family, and students. I feel deeply happy and grateful. As long as there are things to share and people who want to listen, sharing remains the most joyful aspect of life.
