Delaunay (R. Delaunay) - Electric Prism
R Delaunay Electric Prism 250x250cm 1914 Centre Pompidou collection

This work is part of Delaunay's non-figurative painting cycle. He completely abandoned the depiction of subjects, instead expressing the strong colors of juxtaposed light through his beloved sunlight (vortex rhythmic forms). A musical rhythm of form and color tension continuously cycles in the viewer's eyes. Here, form and color become the absolute entities of his painting, revealing a pure aesthetic pleasure.
