The wild lilies of Taiwan, my homeland, symbolize my beautiful land, the original home of life. Undeniably it is the homeland; no matter where I travel to the ends of the earth, the scenery of the homeland is always the most beautiful, the moon of the homeland always the fullest, the soil of the homeland always the most fragrant, the father of the homeland always the most worrying, the relatives and friends of the homeland always the most missed, the politics and economy of the homeland always the most concerning, the arts and culture of the homeland always the most cared for. The vitality of the homeland is my latent creative power, the tremors of the homeland are my soul, the stars of the homeland hold my dreams, the sea of the homeland holds my affection, the mountains of the homeland hold my love, the attributes of the homeland are buried in my spirit. All creation comes from the original home, all achievements and efforts belong to the homeland. Though the body is in a foreign land, the heart remains in the original home. Ah, the moon of the homeland narrates my myriad words, the scenery of the homeland pours out my heart, the landscape of the homeland records my poetry, the wind, mountains, clouds, and water of the homeland hold my love. All of this ferments within my entire life, internalized as my art and my life.

Home is the destination of life, a haven for wanderers, a dwelling for daily life, a space that soothes the spirit, a place of deep affection, a place to settle down and pursue one's calling, the origin point of family reunion, the final destination of fate, the source of character and upbringing. Home becomes the foothold of emotion, the gathering place of clan members, the origin point of my life. Home is everything in life, but not all that I possess. Because I still have the homeland far away yet close to my heart, the original home of my deep consciousness, calling out at all times. My warm home in Paris, France, has also become my hometown. I have no foreign land, only my hometown and my original home. Under the context of the foreign land, my hometown, and my original home, I construct my cross-cultural consciousness and background, becoming the foothold for my research into contemporary global art trends.

Having just returned from my beloved homeland, Taiwan, to my warm home in Paris, France, the feeling of returning home is strong and evocative. A sense of happiness emanates from within. How good it feels to return home, how happy it is. Who can understand this extraordinary feeling? A strong sense of home is a haven for a lifetime. After wandering in the homeland of Taiwan for nearly three months, I finally returned to my own nest—home. What a wonderful home it is. Home becomes the field where I settle down and pursue my calling, the destination of life, and even more so, the space for my creation and writing. This is purely personal; this private realm becomes my personal world, a world containing my beloved homeland and my home.
