In late October, after visiting Paris’s annual international art fair, I returned to my hometown, Taiwan, and busied myself with the solo exhibition at Taiyu Aesthetics Academy in Chiayi. The exhibition proceeded smoothly, and on the day of the opening tea party, relatives, friends, and guests gathered in large numbers, more than I had imagined, all coming to support the event. On the opening day, the gallery secretly arranged a birthday celebration for me. The unexpected surprise moved me deeply; celebrating my birthday amidst everyone’s blessings was hard to imagine. I am grateful for the present moment and bless all, making a wish for the upcoming spring in Taiwan.

In recent years, I have held solo exhibitions in Taiwan every year. The Taiyu Aesthetics Academy exhibition allowed me to feel the most at ease. The birthday celebration was purely accidental, yet not entirely unexpected in life, because this exhibition, in terms of space and conditions, allowed me to perform to the fullest extent and feel completely free. My recent creations have gradually matured and become complete; I have considerable confidence in form and color. My understanding and planning of the space offer a unique context and constructive perspective, verifying my sensitivity to actual space. Furthermore, I can freely explore the concepts and meanings of the works, especially probing the metaphysical spirituality and soulfulness, reaching the core while maintaining freedom in formation. Of course, this is all due to years of perseverance, persistence, and effort. Art and life are like this; there seems to be no such thing as a free lunch. One’s efforts may not always yield proportional rewards, but having exerted oneself fully, nature will take its course. There are no regrets or lingering sorrows; everything has been done with heart and soul.

The greatest achievement of art is sharing: sharing the pure aesthetic beauty of art and the joy of life, witnessing the consciousness of my existence. It was difficult for many friends from afar to come, and many senior figures from the painting world also attended to congratulate me. I deeply appreciated their care. Family affection and friendship are the most moving aspects; this is the greatest encouragement for artistic creation. Amidst the warmth lies blessing; life is so happy and perfect. I wish to dedicate the aesthetic beauty and benevolent consciousness of art to Taiwan, this beloved land and its people. This is my sincerest love and care.
